At a Glance (Dinajpur Government Technical School and College)

Dinajpur Government Technical School and College is a government technical educational institution in Dinajpur district headquarters. The institute started as Vocational Training Institute (VTI) in the academic year 2001 by admitting 20 students in 4 trades in SSC (Vocational) Class IX. To meet the demand of skilled manpower at home and abroad 51 VTIs existing in 1996 and setting up 13 more VTIs in all districts where there are no VTIs or TTCs and introducing 2-year SSC (Vocational) courses (Class IX, X) in place of the existing trade courses. is Later, from 2004 AD, students who passed SSC (Vocational) Class 10 were admitted to the HSC (Vocational) course in the 11th class. The two courses are equivalent to SSC (Science) and HSC (Science) respectively. After passing HSC (Vocational) Course (Class XII) can take admission in Diploma in Engineering (4th Phase)/ B.Sc Engineering/ Honors Course. JSC (Vocational) 6th, 7th and 8th class education program is running from 2022 AD. All the courses/studies of the institute are under the curriculum of Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Currently, the institution has 60 students in JSC (Vocational) class 6, 60 students in 7th class, 60 students in 8th class, 320 students in 4 trades in SSC (Vocational) 9th class in first and 2nd shift, 10th class in 4 trades. And 320 students can study in second shift, 200 students in 4 trades in HSC (Vocational) class XI and 200 students in class XII.
